13 February 2010

Well, we went to Leptis Magna today. It was a 2 hour drive, made a little longer by a few stops at check points. We went with a group of maybe 25(?) other people. Today was so nice, such a good day to go. It was pretty windy, but nice and cool. The ruins were interesting. As you probably know, if you know me, I lost interest about half way through. At that point, it was not as fun, but still a beautiful day with the husband and sweet babe, and I enjoyed that very much.
We walked for like, 3 hours. We saw where they took baths, the toilets, the theater, the coliseum, and tons of beautifully carved marble. I guess there was a lot more marble, but the city was pillaged, and it was all taken.
This is what I hear...
So, we had a good day, saw some good sights, and got to know more people....
When we got home, we tried another coffee shop that's right down the street from our house called Leno's. It was really nice. I didn't have any coffee, they don't have soy milk here (that I've found), but they had beautiful desserts, and nice chairs to sit in. Nice chairs are few and far between here.
So, I'll put more pictures up of Leptis Magna on my facebook. They don't download very well on here.
love you guys!
