Just finished our first full work week here. Not a bad time, in fact I really enjoyed the week. The people I work with are pretty cool, especially Samr, who looks 23 but says he is 30! Shocking when he told me. And I work at the HIB office, which is short for Housing and Infrastructure Board, which is short for something much much longer. Food isn't catered there because there isn't a lot of us AECOM people so we get 7 LYD each day for lunch. We go across the street to this little restaurant and get Shwarmas. Not sure how to spell it but I know it's AWESOME. I get zos (two) shwarmas everyday, which is 2 bucks, so each day I make 5 bucks off my lunch. Well, dinar, but I may say bucks just because I can. But here is a lesson, if you order two shwarmas 3 days in a row, you are then getting two shwarmas from that point forward, whether you like it or not. Now when I come in he already has the slip ready for me to hand to the guy who makes it. But that's fine with me, because I want them. Oh, and the last two days, Samr and Hani have bought my lunch, so I made 7 bucks each lunch. They are sneaky, and then they say, "we paid for you, don't ask why." I don't know what thats supposed to mean, maybe something is lost in translation. But I'll pay for them Sunday I said, we'll see if they let me, because I was supposed to pay today.
Tomorrow we are going to Leptis Magna. I'm pretty excited. They have a pretty sweet Coliseum, people say. Along with a ton of other Roman ruins. It's about 2 hours away. We got dad to go too, so that should be fun. It's nice that he can get away, since he works 15 hour days. I told him he can't talk about work. And Isnard and Dan are going and several other people. Can't wait.
Well, things are going very well here. Can't wait to see pictures of my new niece. Stay safe out there on the outside. And remember to always like life too much.
What a great saying!!! I love it and can't wait to see you all on Thursday!
