I have a few more pictures on my camera, but these will have to do for now...

Christmas

Well, Christmas is over. We didn't end up taking many pictures, but here a few...

Rob was actually allowed to eat dinner with us, but he was taking the picture.
Rocco did get a few things, but he mostly liked his puzzle, and this book.

It was a good day. We played with the Playstation , and read some crazy Guinness World Records of 2011, from the book Bryson gave us for Christmas.

Christmas Baking

Yesterday I made this apple pie. It is really delicious. Today, I'm going to try and make a pumpkin pie. So the search is on, for a pumpkin. I know I saw one in one of the produce stands we drove by yesterday...but to track that one down today...that is the trick. I'll let you know how it goes.

Rainy Days...

This last weekend while we were in Cairo it rained a little. This picture was taken about 5 min away from our house. Isn't that crazy how much it flooded? It isn't the rain so much, as the lack of places for it to go. It was storming pretty bad on the morning we left. I thought for sure our plane would be delayed, but it wasn't more than 30 min or so.

Show and Tell

I finished my scarf tonight! I've had a lot of extra time on my hands, so I've filled it with Christmas movies and knitting. I like how it turned out, so I will show you!                                                            We leave for Cairo tomorrow with Bryson. It should be pretty fun!

The Weekend

A few things we did this weekend...

Visited the monkey at Tuesday Market.

Brought Rocco to the kids play place near our house.

It was quite lovely, but with the age limit set at 13, I was stuck watching Rocco while the kids got to have fun : )

Today we walked around Gregarish Street. We got ice cream, cream puffs, and cheese cake at Veranda, and a Christmas tree at one of the toy stores.

We were pretty happy to find the tree. It isn't that big, but it should be just perfect! We have collected a few things to help make Christmas a success, even if it will be widely ignored here in Libya.
As soon as we are allowed back in our house, I will set it up and post pictures. It will be great.

Right now we're watching Despicable Me.

Your homework this week...watch this movie. It's making us laugh so much.
"He so fluffy I'm gonna die!!"

Hope everyone is enjoying some good Christmas spirit, and snow! If there still is any, I'm not sure.

Fire!

We are currently stationed at a hotel, which is not something we were happy about. Apparently there was a fire in the lobby of our building while we were in Malta. By the time we returned, everything was cleaned up and painted over. The only evidence is seen every time Rocco crawls on the floor. His knees, tops of his feet, and hands get black. You can't see it just to look at the floor, but he collects it like a magnet.
Anyway, they had us move out for a bit while they get everything checked and make sure it's safe again.
Although I'm off the hook for cooking, as they provide all of our meals here, it's going to be a long week, or few days, however long it takes. It's cramped, to say the least.
Headed to Cairo next week!

Who Can Tell Me...

...what this is????

I found it in the produce. The middle is spongy and the outside is warty.
It's a mystery!

Alright, I solved my own mystery...I was just too curious. Here it is!

Sledding fun...

 One of my favorite activities...
I was able to go twice while in Idaho, which was pretty sweet.

Once on Simplot's hill, with Carmela and Neel.

Then up by Bogus with Christina and Jordan...

Ohhh I miss Idaho! It's so beautiful there.

I'm on a roll...

Here are some pictures from the trip to CA. It went by too fast, but was really fun! While we were there, we went to Disneyland, SD, Knotts Berry Farm, and managed to get everyone sick at the same time. Well, I don't think WE got everyone sick, but they were sick.
San Diego...

 Rocco loved the sand

 So did Emma....
 Disneyland

Splash Mountain. The ride was great, but we probably should have done it earlier, we were SO cold!
