A Thousand Splendid Suns

During the time the internet has been down, I've been keeping my time occupied in other ways. I'm almost finished with this book, A Thousand Splendid Suns.
I can't put it down. It's so good! I didn't read The Kite Runner, but I watched the movie. : ) It was too intense for me. This book, while being intense, has happy moments also. Maybe they even things out. Probably not.
If you get the chance, you should read it.
It has made me so nervous about being here though. I know that's silly probably, but it feels like we are all too close to where this happened, and IS happening. Every time I see a burqa clad woman walking a few steps behind her husband I'll remember this book.
Anyway. I have pictures to post, and stories to tell. It seems a little overwhelming at the moment, and I'd rather finish my book ; )

  1. It was a good book. The Kite Rinner was great too and, of course, much better than the movie because you can't get all of the emotion that you get when reading the words. The author was a doctor but put his practice on hold to write full time. I can't wait until another of his comes out.

  2. Oh really, what I liked about the book.... NO READING. Just kidding, it's a Jim Gaffigan joke.
