Our bite of The Big Apple...

I suppose I will finally write about our Next  and last part of the trip. We got into New York City around 4:00 pm and set off walking. It was a little longer walk than Rob had thought. It was a long walk! When we finally found the hotel, we changed and headed to Yankee Stadium for a evening game. It was pretty hot, but we had a lot of fun. We had great seats, so that was nice. Well, we had plenty of leg room and not many people around us. For me, that constitutes great seats : )
The next day we headed out in the late morning to find the hop on hop off bus. I know it's totally lame to be so...touristy...but it's the best way to see the whole city in a short time with a bouncy baby boy. Actually, we also really like the tour guides that tell you all the history, and little facts you wouldn't otherwise know. That day we mostly walked around, ate at a little burger place in the Upper East Side. Apparently they filmed an episode of Celebrity Apprentice there. Whoa. That evening we hopped on the bus and did the Uptown tour. New York City is really amazing!

The next day we visited the Empire State Building, did a little shopping, went to Washington Square Park, and went Magnolia Bakery. We also got to see them filming a scene of "The Good Wife" outside Radio City Music Hall. So, if you watch that show, which I don't, and you see a scene with two guys fighting, one with a silly blue hat, look for us in the background! Magnolia Bakery deserves a paragraph all to itself, so here goes. Together we bought a slice of chocolate cake, a vanilla cupcake, banana pudding, and a cookie sandwich thing. No wonder I gained a few pounds while I was gone with all the good food we ate! If you are in NY, Magnolia Bakery is a must. Do it.
Friday we didn't have to leave for the airport until late afternoon, so we had our last real meal for awhile, and looked around some. We ate at a place called Brgr. That was a great place. They had super delicious milk shakes, fries, and the burgers we had were Amazzing. Rob had the Beautiful Day Burger, and I had the Cultivated Garden Burger. It makes me hungry just thinking about it. You should take a look at the website. It's probably a must as well.
Lincoln Center (to scope out fashion week) and Central Park was on our to do list after lunch...
This is the fountain they replaced the one from Friends with...not cool New York, not cool.

Central Park was beautiful! We did some swinging and sliding. Rocco had never been on either, so I had to show him what they are all about. He wasn't digging it too much, but we had fun!
I didn't want to leave the park, knowing that the next stop would be the train station.
After a loooooooong trip home, here we are! Getting back into the swing of things. The swing of things, being, nothing really. ; )
I guess that's all for now. We decided to try out staying put for a couple months and won't be going anywhere until mid November. We have never been in Libya for more than 5 weeks at a time, so 9 could be a stretch. I guess we'll see how it goes! Paris will be awesome, we're really looking forward to it, and hoping that a certain set of parents will be joining us. : D
Hope everyone is having a good week, and has fun plans for this weekend. I know I do....
