33-30 BSU

Next on the agenda, Washington DC. It was great to see family, and get to see all the monuments and history. Rob and I woke up early the first day. We were just too excited to stay in bed...well, it was probably due to jet lag...but we were excited. There was a Starbucks right in the lobby of the hotel! We were there every morning, and Rob was usually back at least once more a day. That day we saw the Washington monument, Lincoln monument, Ford's Theater, aaand....I can't remember what else.

This is the president's box at Ford's theater. Where Lincoln was shot. Also, a sign that they probably should have put up a little sooner....classic case of too little too late.

That night we went to dinner at Morton's with everybody. It was great. Especially the dessert! Rob had a key lime pie that was soo good, and I had chocolate mousse that was also delicious!
On the way back to the hotel we walked past the White House, so we got some pictures there...

The next day was GAME DAY! We visited the US history museum in the morning...

We met Kermit the frog.
He really doesn't look anything like a frog.

and the game in evening...
The stadium was HUGE. There were tons of people. Mostly there for the other team. It was really fun, even if I didn't know exactly was going on. I ended up cheering for the other team a few times...but, that's okay. They did well. : )
It was a really long walk to the stadium from the..metro? subway? underground? idk idk. I don't remember what they call it there. There should really just be one name for it. It's always the same. Different city different name...it gets confusing.
Anyway. It was a great game, and we had such a great time!
The next day was leaving day. We went to lunch with Jake and Phil, then caught the 1 o'clock train from Union Station to Penn Station.
To Be Continued...

  1. Wonderful blogs about your trip to the States. Some of your stops were so familiar to me. I watched the game too, all of it, because you guys were there, but I didn't know so many of the family made the trip till your dad called. Where next?
