Here We Are!

Well, it's been awhile, but we are actually still alive! :)
Rocco got his tooth fixed, which was an ordeal. He didn't love the waking up from anesthesia part, but other than that he was great. He is doing pretty well and holding the railing while he is on the stairs now. Not having dental coverage makes for an expensive front tooth for Rocco. I think they should have just made it gold. At least then he would be getting an upgrade?
I'm 28 weeks as of last Friday.
This baby is coming if we're ready
or not! And we're not. At the
moment :)
In other news, Beka and Channing got here a couple weeks ago! It's been fun to have them here, and I think they are liking it also. The zoo has been a major hangout. Around four the lions start roaring, and the feeding begins for some of the animals. It's been fun to see them more lively than our usual afternoon visits.

Rocco got a little tangled in the ropes. Much yelling ensued.
This pelican was staring us down big time.
It doesn't look like it, but this was kind of
a scary place to be.

We went to one of our favorite restaurants this weekend, The Royal . It's such a pretty place, and has great pizza. Also, as we found out this time, excellent iced coffee. Although it would probably be hard for them to make a bad one the way they make it here. It's basically ice cream and coffee. And it's really delicious. (unless you are expecting an American version of iced coffee, then you would be a little over on calories for the day, and in a sugar coma.)

This is the iced coffee.
As you can see, the pizza is good.
It's almost gone here, and was
completely gone before we left.

We also have had a bit of a tragedy. Our washing machine finally pooped out. It has been a pain in the rear the whole time we've lived here, and it finally gave out. Although the management company doesn't seem to think it's that big of a deal. So, we spent today at the laundromat having a great time. The benefit in that is now all the laundry is done and I had great company while doing it. The less than ideal part is that each load costs 4 dollars to wash and about 3 dollars to dry. No surprise there. Everything is expensive here.

Oh, and I missed yesterday. We took the train out to Fremantle and had fish and chips with some friends. While they all took a tour of the brewery, Rocco and I got ice cream. This was his biggest "cheese" smile. It's kind of his new picture smile. Technically it's more of a frown, but I think it's
pretty cute. I do get to see his real smile a lot though, so that makes up for his pictures being silly.
Tomorrow holds good fun as well. Rocco has a date with the neighbor boys, which is always a good time. He was outside with them for awhile today and was doing so well riding his little bike. I can't believe how big he has gotten since we got that bike. He was too small for it then. Now he is almost too big for it. Time flies when you're having fun. Or so I hear. It does.
My GP referred me to a hospital for the delivery a couple months ago. Little baby's kidneys are retaining fluid like Rocco's did so I have to see more of a high risk doctor, and do an ultrasound every month. It's a painful process of waiting rooms and full bladders (you have to have a full bladder for an ultrasound), but someone has to do it. I have another appointment this Thursday, and I'm not looking forward to it. I am really missing the comfort of Saint Al's in beautiful Boise at this point. I imagine that after he is born, if the kidneys are still acting up, we will have more and more time in doctors offices and seeing specialists than we would prefer. With Rocco's, he had a couple tests done, and some ultrasounds. None of which aided in him just growing out of it on his own. Unfortunately that doesn't happen 100% of the time, and we have to make sure it doesn't get worse instead. I'm not sure yet how they deal with that here, but I would think about the same.
Other than that, there isn't too much news. The parents are away for awhile, which makes for a quiet house. Actually Rocco makes sure it isn't quiet still, but it seems quiet to me. (I'm sure Beka and Channing would disagree on the noise levels. He's a pretty loud kid.) I suppose some changes are brewing, wether we like it or not. I don't really know the details on them though, so I'll let you know when I do, or when they happen. For now, all is well, and for the most part, the same. Good as always.
