Well, it's been awhile. All is well here. Nothing huge has happened, as you could probably assume from the silence. Although, I'm not completely convinced anyone actually reads this now that I changed the address. Except my mom. But, she's my mom, and already knows all these things mostly. :)
Rob is still going to school and work, and Rocco and I are still not doing either.
We went to a movie yesterday. I don't usually go to movies in theaters. Due in large part to an uncivilized two year old I hang out with. He doesn't do well in public. Or at home. (Actually, for the record...that isn't true. He's a delight, as you all know.) Anyway. We saw The Hunger Games yesterday with some friends. It was well made. That's the only positive thing I can think to say about it. No, I didn't read the book like 97% of everyone everywhere, so that could have changed my opinion I guess. I don't really see how. Watching kids killing other kids against their will isn't an image I want to walk away with. It was sad and disturbing to me. Everyone else seems to like it though, so I must be the weird one. Maybe I just "don't get it"? Which is fine with me. I have absolutely no desire to see the next three.
On a brighter note, Rocco and I joined a playgroup! A few weeks ago, actually. He seems to really enjoy it, which is always fun to see. It's a little different than most. It's at an alzheimer's center. The kids play with each other, eat snacks, and generally run around crazy, while the more mature playgroupers have tea, watch the kids, read them books, sing songs, and of course, take the occasional nap. It's been fun to meet some new people, and give Rocco a chance to let someone else chase him. I get tired.
We've also bee frequenting the zoo, which is always fun. I try to take Rocco at least once a week to the see the monkeys, at his request. Except he actually doesn't really seem to care about them at all. What he cares about is the little stage like platform that is located right in front of the "monkeys" (they're orangutans). He puts on quite a show for anyone who will watch. Or for no one, he isn't picky.
Tomorrow is Baby Rhyme Time at the library. This is our first time, so I'll have to let you know how it is. Or for that matter, what it is. I was invited, I didn't really ask what I was going to, I just said sure, why not?
I went to a cooking class a couple weeks ago that was really fun. It was at a restaurant and wine bar called Must, which I've never actually been to, but have heard it's really a delight. If the food he made that day was any indication, I'd say they were right. It was their Paella Masterclass. I can't say I am now a master paella chef, but I got to eat it! Along with a couple other things, and some great wine. It was a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. As far as the seafood in the paella went, I hesitantly ate it. There were prawns, scallops, cuttlefish, clams, and muscles. None of which I had ever tried, but thought since it was a special occasion, and a world renowned (I mean, he probably is :) chef had prepared it especially for me, and 30 of my closest friends/strangers, I should probably at least try it. the flavor of the rice was really great, although I probably still don't prefer the texture of most sea food. Or most anything that use to be alive. I can do fish and chips. In fact I love fish and chips. The more tartar sauce the better.
Alright, I better get to sleep. I'm trying to catch up on Gossip Girl, and this blogging is really interrupting that. I started back at season one, and am now on season two. It's amazing all the important details I had forgotten! What does that have to do with sleep? I actually watch Gossip Girl when I'm supposed to be sleeping...oops.
Oh, and by the way, Rob and I are starting a cleanse/diet of sorts tomorrow...I only got groceries for this though, so I'm feeling SO hungry already! Not a good sign. I think I'll go sneak in a grilled cheese sandwich before it's against the rules.
Night everybody! Or, good morning, whichever side of the world you're on.
Yes, your mother always reads it and I read it to Catie. I love you!!
