I'm not sure what we are going to do with ourselves for another year here, but I hope something fantastic comes up. : )
I am enjoying doing more baking and cooking since we got back into an apartment. My sister has been teaching my the fine art of bread making, via Skype.
Something we have been enjoying while lounging, is Starbucks VIA instant coffee. Instant coffee usually kind of grosses me out, but this I like. They have flavored, Columbian, decaf, iced...everything! We just ordered more that will hopefully arrive before we run out of the stash we have.
As far as an update goes...
Well, we moved! I'm not sure if I said that earlier. It was about three weeks ago. We were forced to. The small fire in the building led to them raising more and more issues that needed resolving. As the lease was getting closer to ending, they just decided to move everyone to different Guest Houses. This apartment is not as great as the last one at all, but it does the job. It's smaller, and on the bottom floor. Also the maid seems to be more of a housekeeper. (I'm not sure if there's an official difference, but I think there might be.) She comes at 9am, and stays all day until 1:30 or 2. We are the only ones living in this building for now, so I don't want to tell her to leave. In case she needs to be here to get paid. It's not a big deal, but kind of annoying having someone in your house every day. It makes it feel like it isn't your house at all.
We are looking forward to our trip to Paris innn...7 weeks! Wow, that sounds like a long time away. The countdown is on. This is our longest stretch here ever. We've spoiled ourselves this last year as far as traveling goes, and hope to keep it under wraps this year : )
I'm not sure if I wrote it on here, but Rocco is walking now! He's still pretty cautious, but he can still strut his stuff.
Also, Rocco and I leave on our visa renewal trip sometime next week. Rob is saving his PTO days and staying here. It should be fine, but not as fun as if he went. I think we might go to a movie, and eat at Hard Rock. Probably Hard Rock two times. Once to get the Veggie Burger, and another time to get the Cobb salad. Speaking of Hard Rock Cafe in Malta...something that I miss a lot, is restaurants that bring you a big glass of ice water, and not having to ASK for your check. It doesn't sound so bad, but it's so annoying to me. I love going home and having the waiter just bring the check. So convenient. You never have to think about it.
Oh! I did find cinnamon! Unfortunately, that was before someone told me I could get it at Tuesday Market for a couple dollars. I found it at the Palm City Market for 7, yes 7 dinar a jar. Not a big jar. I little spice jar. Yikes. Oh well. Here, I don't question the price of things. If it's there, and I need it, I buy it. Who knows if it will ever be there again. Now if they could tell the difference between brown sugar and raw sugar, I think we'd be set!
Well, chocolate chips and regular oatmeal would be nice. Among other things...yeah, we wouldn't be set at all.
This just kept getting longer and longer....hope you were bored and needed something to do for awhile.
Glad you have Rocco to keep occupied during your not so busy days. :) Miss you guys..are you really staying another whole year???
