Hello all! This is Robby. We made it back from Rome yesterday, and with all of our bags too! It might be difficult to lose a bag when it's only one flight, but that seems to be the only thing Libyan employees try really hard to do. Anyway, I shouldn't complain, since they did a good job yesterday and we made it home safely.
Rome was awesome. I did not use an exclamation point because I tend to use them too freely (although it would have been better than this entire extra sentence and parenthetical phrase). But it was truly a great city and we had a wonderful time. We walked for many miles each day, most of which seemed to be in the Vatican Museum which never ended. At first I'm thinking it was pretty great, looking at some great statues and art work, and after a couple miles of these things it's really too much. But you have to go through it all to see the Sistine chapel. Some of the works by Raffaelo were great, and listening about how he did the work and also Michelangelo working on the Sistine Chapel, it's really breathtaking. And it's so much work. To think that Michelangelo was in that very room for so long, working away and creating an enormous piece of art that covers the cieling is something special.
Mel wrote at great length about the things we did and saw, so I won\t go into detail about that. Rocco has his first tooth coming in. You can see it and feel it. A little baby front tooth poking up from his lower gums. So adorable. He also fell out of his stroller onto the bathroom floor of the Vatican Museum. So I can't wait to tell him how Daddy let that happen. It was awful, but he seems mostly fine. Kidding, he is completely fine. But it was not a fun few minutes when he was screaming.
So, now we're back in Libya, and although we like it here, we already talk about where we want to go next and what we want to do. Mel wants to go to Seoul to se her sister in April. If she goes, that wil be without me. Not because I dislike Korea, because I don't, but I just don't really want to take the time off and spend the money to go there. I might take a weekend trip somewhere that Mel does not want to go very badly. Like Tunisia and relax on a nice beach. Or Malta, but we are going there in May anyway. SO we will see. Hope you enjoy the pictures Mel put up on the blog. Talk to you all soon.
That sounds like a terrible fall. Poor Rocco.
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time Alli got hurt. Not sure who cried more, her mom and dad or her.
Just kidding, it was her mom and dad, hands down.
Oh poor little Rocco! :( The funny thing is, Daddy will always remember this and cringe, and the little guy won't even know it happened. And, yes, we cried more than Alli did when she got hurt at just 2 little weeks old.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a fun trip! I want to see it now. Maybe someday soon. :)
